Sleighride in deer country
For a full half-day excursion with meal, your adventure at Bobby’s place, the site of an old sawmill and newly renovated camp east of Bathurst. Let us introduce you to the owner and our host partner who can entertain you about some local stories and explain sustainable logging and milling practiced by his family.
A very unique artisanal sleigh pulled by a farm tractor will be clean and ready for you to hop in. The deer being used to the sound of the slow moving tractor and the forest being such a perfect environment for them to come and feed naturally, chances are pretty good in spotting them during a very relaxing sleigh ride.
We will make stops for some pictures and interpretation along our way through beautiful cedar swales. Appreciate the simplicity and beauty of the forest covered in a snow blanket. Midway into the tour, step down to a rustic shelter shielded by cedars and chose to snowshoe a small loop while we make an open fire to cook some bannock and offer you some hot chocolate.
Hop in the sleigh again to make your way back through different trails to Bobby’s camp, in a cozy warm atmosphere and a meal that will surely “hit the spot”. This half-day great experience is 70$ per person.
You can also choose to do a shorter 1 hour sleigh-ride without a meal, for 10$ per children 14 and under and 20$ per adults.
Departure: 3800 Cape Road (or other meet spot on request)
